President Uhuru To Address Nation At 3Pm After Summit With Governors.

President Uhuru Kenyatta is set to address the nation at 3Pm on Monday, July 27 at the State House after the ongoing summit with the 47 governors.

The head of state and the governors will be discussing the state of coronavirus pandemic in the country.

Part of the agenda is also updating on the preparedness of counties in respect to the Covid-19 infections.

The meeting comes 21 days since the president eased the travel restrictions allowing citizens to move freely within the country.

The decision to ease some restrictions that were previously effected to curb the virus will be reviewed during the summit.

The program of the meeting indicates that the president, ministry of health officials and county bosses will discuss how the infections are expected to hit the peak soon.

Kakamega County Governor and chairperson of the council of governors Wycliffe Oparanya is expected to give a briefing on the state of counties’ preparedness.

Out of the 47 counties, only Baringo, West Pokot and Samburu counties have not confirmed any Coronavirus cases.

Education CS George Magoha will address on decisions around his ministry.

Officials representing the inter-faith council will give an update on the situation in the places of worship.

This will be the 10th presidential address since coronavirus found its way into Kenya.

The meeting would have been held last week on Friday, July 24 but was postponed to Monday.
