None Of Our Papers Will Leak This Year , WAEC Promises Ghanaians

The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has made a solemn that none of its papers will leak the year.

The Head of Public Relations for the West African Examination Council,  Agnes Teye-Cudjoe said the precautionary measures they have put in place will secure the secrecy of the exams questions and papers.

Her reassurance comes on the back of videos and pictures that were sighted on social media over the weekend on the alleged leakage of the Integrated Science Paper 1 & 2.

Speaking in an interview with Angel FM, Mrs Cudjoe said:

“We have done everything within our power, we have put in all the necessary security measure to make sure that none of the papers leak.”

She repeated that claims that papers have leaked should be disregarded. According to her, individuals engaged in the purported leaks are using it as an opportunity to make money off the candidates.

She also assured the public that WAEC would expose any official who is responsible for any leaks in their examinations. “As an organization, our reputation is at stake, the integrity of our certificates is at stake therefore even if I am the one to cause anything [leaks], I don’t think the organization would shield me at all, ” she said.

The 2020 West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) commenced in Ghana today across all senior high schools with final students writing Integrated Science as the first paper.

Despite the assurance of the council, many are skeptical as to whether these questions will still not be leaked especially when they are being dispatched to these schools.
