A Florida man was arrested on his honeymoon after he left his sleeping wife to go meet a sex worker.
Paul Turovsky, 34, snuck out of his hotel room in Tampa where his wife was sleeping to meet a prostitute he had found online.
However, when he arrived at the Hyatt Hotel where he had arranged to meet the prostitute, he was arrested by local police during a sting operation.
Hillsborough County Sheriff’s office (HCSO) confirmed that Turovksy responded to an ad they placed, with Turovsky agreeing to meet the undercover officer to pay for sex. He was put in handcuffs upon his arrival at the hotel and charged with soliciting another to commit prostitution.
According to the arrest report, Turovsky is a self-employed business manager from Fort Myers.
Speaking about Turovksy’s arrest, Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister said:
“The only question here was, as a wedding guest, was it too late to get the gifts they have returned back to them.”
It is not currently known if Turovsky remains married. The HCSO organised the sting in an attempt to crackdown on human trafficking and related crimes.
A total of 176 men were arrested during the sting operation along with Turovsky. The HCSO also reports that 360 arrests have been made over the past three months.
Similar ads were placed online to lure in suspects who chatted with undercover officers before arranging to meet.
Chronister added:
“When you see the communication that these individuals wanted to do with these young boys, or they wanted to do with these young girls, it’s repulsive.”
During the operation, officers also found two missing Massachusetts teenagers who are believed to have been trafficked by two of the suspects that were arrested.
