Where Were Female Empowerment And Feminism For Akua Donkor And Nana Konadu Agyemang? Ghanaians Ask

The outdooring of Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang as the running mate for the biggest opposition party, the NDC has seen diverse views flying around social media.

A lot of congratulatory messages and praises have been showered on Mahama for fueling the ‘women empowerment’ agenda.

However, those with opposing views argued that this is nothing new because subsequent election races saw some political parties featuring women in their political race.

Some examples sited were Akua Donkor of the Ghana Freedom Party running as the party’s Presidential candidate, Eva Lokko chosen by Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom to run as a vice-presidential candidate for the CPP and Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings running as a presidential candidate for her newly founded party the NDP

These backlashes were supposedly targeted at the Feminist movement who is said to be making a big deal out of the appointment.
