Lengo Karisa Mudzomba, the man from Coastal Kenya who flogged former Prime Minister Raila Odinga some time in 2014 has changed his tune and now wants a handshake.

Speaking on Wednesday August 19, 2020, Lengo is now pleading for a visitation from not only Baba but also Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya whom he also caned.

“I would urge them to make time from their busy schedule and visit me, I would really be happy as someone who was born today,” he urged the two leaders despite them forgiving him.

The incident occurred during one of the then coalition reforms staged by the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party in Kinango, Kwale County.

At the time, there were unverified speculations that the ODM party leader was seen on the dance floor with Lengo’s wife. And that the dance was suggestive in the eyes of witnesses.

However, Lengo still maintains that he was not paid by anyone to attack the leaders.

As such, he says that he had no idea what provoked him to pounce.

“I was from taking tea and went to the event. I still do not know how I ended up whipping them, I just remember being pushed to the ground,” Lengo stated.

Nevertheless, residents of Kaloleni accused him of drinking and being high on some hard drugs and went as far as threatening him.

“I was accused of drinking and taking hard drugs by the locals who demanded answers to why I canned Raila,” he explained.

Fearing for his life, he fled Kaloleni to seek refuge at his brother’s residence in Vipingo, a place he now calls home.

According to his brother, Lengo has been asking for his victims to pay him a visit, saying it would give him peace of mind.

However, the latter refrains from discussing the whereabouts of the stick he used to whip the leaders saying it was “bad luck.”
