Media personalities Kamene Goro and Shaffie Weru are making a radio comeback via NRG Radio.
On Wednesday, April 26, 2023, Kamene put up a poster announcing that she has officially joined NRG Radio to host ‘NRG Transit’ alongside Shaffie Weru and DJ Pierra Makena.
“Good Morning My Loves!!!!!!! @shaffieweru @pierramakenaofficial do you think they are ready for this one? @nrgradiokenya,” Kamene Goro shared.
Their new show will be running from 3:00pm to 7:oopm on Friday.
Credible sources told Mpasho’s Dennis Milimo that this week’s show will be more of a trial before the NRG management decides if they will keep the trio permanently.
Kamene is making a comeback to NRG Radio years after being poached by Radio Africa Group to host The Morning Kiss alongside Andrew Kibe.
“It is official. Kamene Goro and Andrew Kibe are leaving. #NRGBreakfastClub. You lit this joint..We wish you all the best @kamenegoro and @kibeandy. #NRGBreakfastClub,” wrote NRG back in 2019.
Kibe and Kamene were poached by Radio Africa group to replace Adelle Onyango who hanged her boots after 7 years. At that time Kiss 100 was also re-branding with a completely new studio.
Kamene Goro left Kiss FM in January 2023 and was replaced by Sheila Kwamboka aka Kwambox.
“I was however sick last year and I followed the protocol, and gave in the letters, I never showed up at work sometimes but it is because I was sick. I also never showed up at work intoxicated because I run the desk and you can’t run the desk when you are drunk,” Kamene stated.
On the other hand, Shaffie Weru has joined NRG Radio, weeks after landing a new job with Nairobi County.
The former Kiss FM presenter was tasked to head the events and branding docket at Nairobi County for the next five years.
“Looking forward to making Nairobi work and be great again just as it’s indicated in the Governor’s manifesto,” Shaffie Weru said.
“I have seen these stories, the truth is I was not fired, my contract lapsed and there was no need to move forward with it.
