Popular global digital charting and award scheme platform Billboard has released a list of most-watched artistes in 13 African countries including, Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Ivory Coast etc.
Otile Brown is the most-watched artist in Kenya followed by Sauti Sol, Willy Paul, Boondocks Gang and Khaligraph Jones respectively.
Otile’s hit collabo with Sanaipei Tande ‘Chaguo la Moyo’ holds the record for the mos watched Kenyan song on YouTube with 20 Million views.
According to the billboard, their ranking was based on YouTube figures for Homegrown talents across Africa.
“From Afrobeats stars to the late king of coupé décalé, the top five homegrown musical acts in 11 African countries based on a year of local YouTube views.”
