Woman With Worlds Longest Name Has 1,019 Letters And Two Foot Long Birth Certificate

Many parents find themselves searching for a unique name for their new baby, taking inspiration their favourite things, foods, colours or locations.

But instead of picking something unusual, Sandra Williams decided to get that uniqueness by coming up with a very, very, very long name for her baby daughter.

When the little girl was born on September 12, 1984, her parents wrote Rhoshandiatellyneshiaunneveshenk Koyaanisquatsiuth Williams on her birth certificate.

However three weeks later they decided it simply wasn’t long enough, so they filed an amendment which made it 1,019 letters long. They also added a 36-letter middle name.

After the change, her name became Rhoshandiatellyneshiaunneveshenkescianneshaimondrischlyndasaccarnae renquellenendrasamecashaunettethalemeicoleshiwhalhinive’onchellecaundenesh eaalausondrilynnejeanetrimyranaekuesaundrilynnezekeriakenvaunetradevonneya vondalatarneskcaevontaepreonkeinesceellaviavelzadawnefriendsettajessicanneles ciajoyvaelloydietteyvettesparklenesceaundrieaquenttaekatilyaevea’shauwneorali aevaekizzieshiyjuanewandalecciannereneitheliapreciousnesceverroneccalovelia tyronevekacarrionnehenriettaescecleonpatrarutheliacharsalynnmeokcamonaeloies alynnecsiannemerciadellesciaustillaparissalondonveshadenequamonecaalexetiozetia quaniaenglaundneshiafrancethosharomeshaunnehawaineakowethauandavernellchishankcarl inaaddoneillesciachristondrafawndrealaotrelleoctavionnemiariasarahtashabnequcka gailenaxeteshiataharadaponsadeloriakoentescacraigneckadellanierstellavonnemyiat angoneshiadianacorvettinagodtawndrashirlenescekilokoneyasharrontannamyantoniaaquin ettesequioadaurilessiaquatandamerceddiamaebellecescajamesauwnneltomecapolotyoajohny aetheodoradilcyana.

Her new birth certificate was 2ft long.

As Rhoshandiatellyneshiaunneveshenk Koyaanisquatsiuth isn’t the catchiest of names for day-to-day use, her friends and family just call her Jamie.

Speaking to Oprah back in 1997 when Jamie was 12, her mum explained her decision to give her such a long name.

She told a shocked Oprah:

“I had to do something to break a Guinness World Record. I had to make sure that her name was going to be unique.

“I didn’t want her name to be like anybody elses.

“Her name had to be different and I had to be in the Guinness book.
