U.K School Hires Nigerian Tech Genius Girl Aged 10 As Coding Instructor

A remarkable 10 year old Nigerian girl has beaten all odds to secure a coding instructor job at a school in the United Kingdom.

Emmanuella Mayaki recently received her first job at the Southfield Primary School in Coventry, England.

She is taking up the after-school sessions as the new coding club teacher.

According to a report by Face 2 Face Africa, will be teaching other kids her age about the basics of coding including HTML and CSS.

So far, she has just about nine pupils signed up to the club and more are expected from September.

“In the club, there are currently about nine pupils. Hopefully, the club will increase its members in September,” she said in an interview with Face 2 Face.

The school hired her because of her extraordinary knowledge, understanding and skill in the area.

Young Mayaki’s passion and strength in technology was realized when she was just seven years old.

Two years later, she obtained a diploma with a specialty in multiple software programs such as Advanced PowerPoint, Desktop Publishing and Advanced Excel.

Sources indicate that she is actively learning other coding languages to sharpen her expertise further.

According to Emanuella, her Academy App is already up and running on Google Play Store. Through it, she is able to pass on knowledge of coding and graphics.

“I remember at age seven, I set a target to become a professional web designer and analyst at age nine, and I have accomplished it,” she added.

Speaking on her new experience as a teacher, Emanuella said:

“In the first week, I was pretty nervous because I had never taught a group of children. Although, my experience was sublime because I gained experience and I also enriched my skills,” she concluded.
