Groups of passengers travelling to and from Accra have been left stranded in the middle of their journey as they could not beat time to arrive at their destinations.

President Akufo-Addo ordered a lockdown of three major cities; Accra, Kumasi and Tema to help reduce the spread of the coronavirus disease.

The president also announced that the directive will take effect at 1 AM on Monday, March 30.

Security personnel who were deployed to the three cities mounted roadblocks at major entry points mandated to allow or deny anyone entry to avoid any potential risk of infection.

Some Ghanaians decided to flee the affected cities to other parts of the country where the lockdown did not apply but these ones were not lucky enough.
