9-Year-Old Girl Donates N950 To Ogun State Government To Help In The Fight Against Coronavirus In Ogun

A 9-year-old girl has donated the sum of N950 to the Ogun State government, as her personal contribution towards the fight against Coronavirus global pandemic in the state.

The girl, Oluwashikemi Ogunleye has been commended by Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, over her selfless attitude.

The Governor made the revelation while speaking to journalists at his Iperu Remo residence in Ikenne Local Government Area of the State.

While singling out the little donation from the youngest donor, Governor Abiodun said he was thrilled by the small but significant donation from the little Oluwashikemi.

The Governor said;

“I am particularly thrilled by the small but very significant donation from the youngest donor so far, Oluwashikemi Ogunleye. She used our USSD Code to donate 950 Naira. Oluwashikemi, I am proud to be the governor of a philanthropist like you. You are indeed the symbol of giving from ourselves to ourselves, and the future we are building together. I call on others to come forward and support the fight against COVID.”

The Governor also took to his verified Facebook and Twitter handles to celebrate the little girl.

On his Facebook page, Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun – MFR, the Governor said Oluwashikemi followed the footstep of philanthropists who have proven that humanity remains intact.

He wrote;

“Not all superheroes wear capes. Little Oluwashikemi Ogunleye, who is our youngest donor so far, used the State USSD to donate 950 Naira to the Ogun State COVID-19 Pandemic Support Fund. Oluwashikemi followed the footsteps of leading philanthropists that have proven in our dear State so far that humanity remains intact. I am proud to be the Governor of a philanthropist. My personal message to you, Oluwashikemi is to continue to be generous. May Almighty God bless us through recovery from this pandemic on the grounds of your kind heart.”
