Just yesterday, veteran Ghanaian footballer, Michael Essien became a topic of discussion on social media after declaring support for the Ghanaian LGBT community.
This came right after the country’s President Akufo Addo vehemently opposed to the idea of legalizing same sex marriage in the country.
In an instagram post, he remarked that Ghana supports equality, hence the voice of the LGBT must also be heard.
“We see you, we hear you, we support you. Our LGBTQIA plus Community in Ghana #ghanasupportequality ????????????????“, he wrote.
However, we woke up this morning just to realise that Essien has ran away from his decision of supporting the LGBTQI community.
A check on his Instagram handle shows that he has deleted the post on his page.
It’s not why he decided to pull down the post. But it is obvious that his decision was borne out of the fact that some social media users angrily blasted him for supporting the homosexuals.
