The construction and furnishing of the 80-bed cardio center is estimated to cost the rich politician a whooping Three Million Dollars (estimated around Seventeen million Ghana Cedis).

Kennedy Agyapong cut the sod for the construction of the cardio facility on Tuesday, June 22, 2021.

He told the press during the ceremony that he is the sole sponsor for the construction which will be completed in one year and the facility will be known as Kennedy Ohene Agyapong Cardiothoracic Centre.

Speaking about what motivated him to put up such building, Kennedy Agyapong disclosed he was motivated to do this when he sought medical care for his late father in the United States some years ago.

He explained that he found out the hospital where he took his father in New Jersey was established by a husband and a wife

Kennedy Agyapong added that the thought of a husband and wife owning a public hospital urged him to undertake such a project in Ghana.

He thanked the current management of 37 Military Hospital and the Chief of Defence Staff for their efforts to make his project a reality.
