I Will Drop A Bombshell When I Appear Before The Tribunal – Irene Masit

Suspended IEBC Commissioner Irene Masit has promised to table a bombshell once she appears before a tribunal formed by President William Ruto to probe them over their conduct in the August 9, polls.

In a report by Citizen TV, Masit explained that she will not vacate the office promising Kenyans that she will face the tribunal and argue her case.

“I am not ready to quit. Kenyans should expect a bombshell during my appearance,” she said through her lawyer Donald Kipkorir.

The IEBC Commissioner has distanced herself from claims that she was only visited by the leaders of the Azimio La Umoja at a hotel they had booked in Kilimani saying the visit cut across the political divide.

“There are reports in the media about Azimio leaders visiting our apartment. This is part of an agenda targeting me as it is factually incorrect. We were visited by relatives, lawyers, friends and political operatives from Azimio and Kenya Kwanza side,” Masit told the tribunal in her response.

In her response, she adds that former IEBC commissioners, Juliana Cherera, Justus Nyang’aya, Francis Wanderi and her booked a hotel in Kilimani because they feared for their lives.

The clarification comes after a media report indicated that the four had visited them the hotel by top Azimio leaders with a close ally of the ODM leader being alleged to have paid the hotel costs.

Among the leaders said to have visited the four is the Azimio Executive Director Raphael Tuju and Kanu secretary general Nick Salat.
