Meet The Ghanaian Surgeon Who Saved US Rapper 50 Cent’s Life When He Was Shot 9 Times

Meet Dr. Moses deGraft-Johnson.

He is the owner of the Heart and Vascular Institute of North Florida.

In 2010, he led a team of highly trained physicians and nurses to perform the first open-heart surgery in the U.S. Virgin Islands on a female patient.

His other claim to fame in his career is being part of the team that successfully operated on one of the biggest US rappers – 50 Cent.

In 2000, before 50 Cent became 50 Cent, he was shot 9 times in his grandmothers’ house in Queens, NY.

Dr. Moses deGraft Johnson was then an attending surgeon at the Jamaica Medical center in Queens, New York.

Along with Dr. Nader Paksima they successfully operated and saved the life of 50 Cent who was 27 years old at the time.

The story was brought to life by Lawyer William Bubsey, who is currently representing Dr. Moses in his 52-count Federal indictment for committing $23 million insurance fraud.
