There has been a strong police presence in Black Star Square and other major Accra avenues.
This is to uphold a High Court injunction against the #FixTheCountry rally, which was scheduled for May 9.
According to the Ghana Police Service, the deployment of the police force is to implement the ruling and ensure that Covid-19 protocols are followed throughout the region.
The High Court‘s injunction has directed the protest’s convener to instruct supporters to demonstrate via social media as well as in their homes and communities.
Conveners have also urged protesters around the country to hoist placards at strategic points in their neighbourhoods to hoist placards to express their displeasure.
