Bawumia And Bill Gates Hold Meeting Over Ghana’s Response To Covid-19

Ghana’s Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has in a recent development held a meeting with founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates.

The meeting was a virtual one held via Zoom. Issues that were discussed in the course of the meeting included Ghana’s progress on immunization against the new circulating vaccine-derived polio virus type 2 (cVDPV2), lessons from Ghana’s policy response to COVID-19 and Ghana’s digitization strategy.

He made this known via his Facebook account in which he wrote

Earlier today, I held a zoom meeting with Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft to discuss three key issues:
1. Ghana’s progress on immunization against the new circulating vaccine-derived polio virus type 2 (cVDPV2).
2. The lessons from Ghana’s policy response to COVID-19.
3. Ghana’s digitization strategy.
It was a good exchange of views and he congratulated Ghana for the strides we have made on several fronts. I also thanked him and the Gates Foundation for their successful work in the fight against polio and other diseases. I was joined in the meeting by Dr. Oko-Boye, Deputy Minister for Health.
