A 19-year old student in Kakamega is the lastest to test positive for the naval coronavirus in the country.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, March 26th, Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya confirmed the case saying the patient returned to the country from London.

As a result, a boda boda rider who came into contact with the student on his arrival in the county has been quarantined at the Kakamega County Referral Hospital as well as family members who are being monitored for any signs.

Oparanya further revealed that a Member of County Assembly is also among four people who have been directed to self-quarantine after they were suspected to have been exposed to the virus.

The County government staff will remain at home for 15 days as a precautionary measure.

As of Wednesday, March 25th, the confirmed cases in the country stood at 28 with one patient fully recovered.
