Felix Odiwuor popularly known as Jalang’o has on this day, June 25 hinted at launching a YouTube-based television station, Jalang’o TV.
The comedian and radio presenter dropped the hint while discussing the growth rate of his Youtube Channel, Bonga na Jalas which has already bagged 106K subscribers.
“With how the channel is growing so fast, what if we made it even bigger and better?” He began.
He went on to explain that Bonga na Jalas alongside all the other interviews could just be a segment on the channel.
Then he can hire talents from among his fans to report on news, sports as well as handle the reviews.
He also intends to have a comedian on the station to cheer up the crowd.
“This is whay I mean, Bonga na Jalas and the interviews that I do, just becomes a segment in the YouTube Channel. Then for you guys who watch and think you have a talent, I can have somebody do news, I can have another do sports, a comedian of the day and another doing reviews,” he said.
Jalang’o openly quit his presenter job at Milele FM last week. According to him, he and his former employer, Mediamax Network Ltd did not agree to the terms of his employment.
Through this new idea, he hopes to bring employment and other opportunities closer home to the youth.
He also revealed that Bonga na Jalas has already attracted a number of advertisers and more are expected to follow.
Concluding his statement, he urged all aspiring presenters, comedians and news anchors to send in their sample clips.
“If you think you have a talent and have always wanted to host something, you can talk to me.”
He said adding that those interested can comment based on what they are good at after which they will be redirected to where they can send their clips.
“Then we will put it out here and we will get our Jalang’o TV hosts,” he concluded.
