I Nearly Gave Up On My Dream To Be A Dancer – Dancegod Shares Inspiring Story (Video)

Popular Ghanaian dance coach and choreographer, Laud Anoo Konadu known professionally as Dancegod Lloyd has shared his success story in a recent interview.

Well, when it comes to entertainment in Ghana, we mostly ignore dancers in the list until a few of them like Incredible Zigi, Dancegod Lloyd and Afrobeast made it through the craft, building brands for themselves and teaching others to do the same. In present days, dancers are also respected and paid for their works as others have also shown interest in the craft.

Others also fused the craft with music and have also earned their place in the entertainment fraternity, doing well for themselves. For instance, Mr. Drew always describes himself as unique because he is a dancer and a singer at the same time.

Speaking in an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM on the Daybreak Hitz show, Dancegod Lloyd revealed that he nearly gave up on his purpose because of the perceptions of people about dancers.

He told Andy Dosty that after he completed senior high school, he took a break from school for about four years and then started playing football but to him, that wasn’t his purpose in life.

At some point, he had to go back to dancing but he nearly gave up after realizing that the craft doesn’t really pay that much.

Dancegod also revealed that he had a few friends who knew his talent and revealed their intentions to invest their time and energy into his vision in building a solid brand for himself.

He later realized that there was more to dancing than he could ever imagine, thus his reason for sticking to the craft which he describes as his main purpose.
