President William Ruto has divulged that he is under pressure from first lady Mama Rachel after he lost a bet they had made with her on the World Cup finals between Argentina and France.
The President was rooting for France to clinch the trophy owing to a large number of Africans playing for the team.
But the first lady on the other hand had declared support for Argentina which won the cup on penalties.
Mama Rachel took to Twitter after Argentina’s victory to implore the president to clear his bill.
The President seemingly in jest, on Monday morning, claimed that he has been unable to sort out the demands from his wife and children over the bet.
He claims that he has tried to look for money to clear the debts accrued from the bet to no avail.
“Hustler fund wamenikataza siwezi lipa bet nayo wanasema pesa ni ya husle. Isorait. Kwangu hakukaliki. Lady #1 na watoi ni pressure. Wale kuku zangu wataniokoa nilipe. Lakini naulizaje? Bet huishanga na 90min ama xtra time huesabiwa? Even penalty shootouts? Kuuliza tu?” He posed/
The Argentina Vs France game ended in a 2-2 draw in the first 90 mins after Kylian Mbappe cancelled two goals scored by Lionel Messi and Angel Di Maria in the first half of the match.
The match proceeded on extra time occasioning another dramatic encounter after Mbappe yet again cancelled Messi’s opener in the second 15 minutes of extra time.
Argentina, however, managed to win 4-2 on penalties.
