Two Police Officers Go Missing On Oda River Whiles Chasing Suspected Criminals

Two officers of the Ghana Police Service have reportedly gone missing on the Oda River in pursuit of suspected criminals at Kobro, a village in Obuasi.

The two officers are No. 48515 G/L/Cpl. Stephen Kyeremeh and No. 50287 G/L/Cpl. Amedius Akwesi Boateng, both of Obuasi Police Station.

MyJoyOnline.com reports that Lance Corporal Akwasi Boateng and Stephen Kyeremeh according to reports were pursuing of some suspected criminals in the area when the canoe ferrying them capsized.

The criminals during the hot chase were believed to have crossed the river to the other side leaving the officers with no choice than to follow them.

But their canoe which capsized midway through the chase.

“A search of the bodies is underway, as part of an investigation into the suspected case of the drowning of the officers on Wednesday 15th July, 2020,” the Ghana Police Service Facebook page assures Ghanaians.
