Two Housemasters Interdicted In KNUST SHS Student’s Death Case

The Senior Housemaster and the Housemaster of Densu House where the deceased student resided have been asked to step aside as investigations are ongoing.

This comes after the headmistress of the school, Felicity Asamoah Dankwaa was interdicted by GES on Wednesday. The school authorities have been accused of negligence which led to the death of one of their students.

Owusu Ansah Seth, the senior housemaster was reported to have punished the only people who were trying to help their friend by giving them a plot of land to weed.

One of the students recounted that “the senior housemaster told his [the deceased boy’s] friends to leave him alone. He told them to sanitise their hands and asked them why they were holding the boy and gave them a plot to weed [as punishment].”

According to the Ashanti Regional Director of the Ghana Education Service, the fate of the housemasters will be determined after the investigations.

“The Senior Housemaster and the Housemaster have also been asked to step aside for investigations to continue. Whether they will come back or not will depend on the recommendation of the committee but for now, they have been also asked to step aside until the committee finishes its work,” she said.
