A three-year-old boy is battling for his life at the Manhyia Government Hospital in the Ashanti Region after his biological father whipped him with a belt and power cables for bedwetting.
According to a report by JoyNews, this is not the first time the little Junior (not his real name) has been subjected to such severe beatings by his father, Ebenezer Osei Bonsu.
With a huge plaster on his forehead, Juniorโs back has been left with deep cuts, making it difficult for him to lie on his back.
His hands and thighs were not spared either. He had bandages almost all over his body as a result of his fatherโs assault.
โMy daddy beat me with a wire. He said Iโve been naughty. He also said I wet his bed,โ he narrated his ordeal in a trembling voice.
According to his 26-year old mother, she dated Junior โs father for seven years but broke up with him due to his constant physical abuse.
โHe hit me with anything he finds whenever he was angry. I couldnโt tell anyone at home, so I kept it to myself. Sometimes, he bites me.โ
She said the man only took the little boy one Saturday to his place on a weekend visitation only to start assaulting him. She explained that all attempts to allow her to pick up the child proved futile until the police intervened to rescue him.
Meanwhile, Juniorโs 30-year-old father, Ebenezer, in police custody. Some Ghanaians took to social media to express their anger over the assault on the three-year-old boy.
