Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has promised Kenyans to always look the part as governor after a photo of her donned in a loose-fitting skirt suit made rounds on social media , with Kenyan poking fun at her insinuating that she was ‘dressed poorly’ during a meeting with Machakos residents on Thursday, November 10.
Taking to her social media account the governor posted a collection of photos of her looking elegant in past occasions, defending herself over her choice of dress in the viral photo, stating that she is more focused on service delivery than her appearance but assured to do better next time.
“Lakini nyinyi wakenya, enyewe mmeniweza. One thing I now know is that you love me being smart. Sitadissapoint tena. Nowadays I care more about your needs. Love you guys,” she captioned her photos.
The governor who is known for being one of the most fashionable county bosses was celebrating her birthday with Machakos residents when the photo went viral of her in the unflattering outfit, and netizens went in for the jugular making fun of her ensemble.
“Whoever tailored those clothes for you should be immediately arrested,” one Phiuc Mutisoh stated.
“Mama yetu (our mother), tell us it was intentional please,” Jenny Josphat chimed.
Others likened Ndeti’s choice of dress to Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s previous ill fitting suits that have often been a point of ridicule by Kenyans.
“It seems Wavinya Ndeti has hired the tailor who was sacked by Riggy G,” Patrick Safari opined.
“Governor, did you employ Riggy G’s tailor?” asked Haki Mwari wa Gathirwah.
“You need to be sued for misusing the material Madam Governor. Why hire what Gachagua has sacked?” Lawrence Kanampiu posed.
The governor later changed to a dashing outfit comprising of a blue dress and a flowing white coat for her birthday celebration.
