Safaricom Unleashes New Mpesa Update After Maintenance

Safaricom on Sunday, July 19 unveiled a new update on its Mpesa product following a maintenance scheduling that lasted 12 hours since 10pm Saturday night.

“All M-Pesa services have been fully restored following the earlier communicated planned service maintenance. We apologize for any inconveniences caused during the maintenance and thank our partners and customers for their continued support,” the company’s statement read.

According to the PLC, Mpesa users will now be able to see how much more they can transact in a day after each successful transaction.

The update will come along with the transaction message that comes along after each Mpesa use.

Mpesa users will no longer need to keep turbs on how much they are left to transact especially those customers working with large sums of money.

Earlier in March, the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) announced some developments to support Kenyans into going more cashless to control Covid-19.

As such, they addressed limitations that had affected most traders when accessing online payment services like Mpesa.

As such, they raised the daily limit of mobile money transactions by more than double from Sh140,000 to Sh300,000.

The bank also announced an increased the limit amount in a single transaction from Sh 70,000 to Sh150,000.
