This is Pikkie Greeff.
The national secretary of the South African National Defence Union (SANDU).
On Tuesday, January 10, 2016, Pikkie sent out the tweet below wondering why Akufo-Addo was dressed in such a cloth and sat on a stool during his inauguration as the new President of Ghana.
Yeah, really called the lovely Kente a “shower curtain”.
Someone wanna tell us why the Ghana President wears a shower curtain & sits on a primary school stage play prop? pic.twitter.com/6vqIWpGQ3z

Well, as you can imagine Ghanaians did not take it lightly, and started clapping back at Pikkie for making a mockery of our dear culture.

@PikkieGreeff Why mock someone’s culture? Because they’re different from you they must be ridiculed? Are you drunk?

He was quickly remindered of the value of the “shower curtain”.
@PikkieGreeff the shower curtain you see, when sold, can feed you and your entire generations, the stool is valuable than the whole SA Ofuii

There are those who questioned his sanity.
— wa-mashudu (@lukieml1) January 10, 2017
Some wondered if he had any clue of what “culture” is.
@PikkieGreeff its called culture…lol..we hope you know yours

@PikkieGreeff you need to be educated about cultural diversity, it is pure stupidity to believe that a suit & tie is the only dress code

The racial undertone of his tweet was called out too.
@PikkieGreeff Congratulations, you have just exposed your ignorance and white supremacy mentality to their world.

@PikkieGreeff and this man claims to represent a union dominated by Africans. Wonder what he discusses during his dinners away from Twitter.
