Social media users are in tears over the death of a pregnant hawker who died during delivery.
The news was broke by Crime Check Foundation via their Facebook page Crime Check TV GH.
Ohemaa who hails from Adanse Bodwesango in the Ashanti Region was a street hawker who sells tiger nuts known to Ghanaians as ‘Atadwe’ to cater for herself and her children which includes her late sister’s as well.
Narrating her ordeal to Crime Check Foundation, Ohemaa got support from some good samaritans to cater for her antenatal and upkeep.
Heavily pregnant Ohemaa is seen competing with vehicles on a highway in her bid to sell her products. Asked why she was doing this when she should be resting and preparing for delivery, she said: “I have children who have to go to school and with my condition, I have to do this to fend for the family.”
Ohemaa died during delivery at a hospital in Winneba on Tuesday, February 25 together with her unborn baby.
May her soul rest in peace.
