NPP Chooses Wife Of Deceased Mfantseman MP To Replace Husband For Elections 2020

Just some few days ago ago, Ghanaians were thrown into a state of shock after it was reported that the Member of Parliament for Mfantseman constituency, Ekow Hayford had be shot dead.

Following the tragic development, various calls have been made by both the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the police to do all it takes to apprehend the culprits.

In a recent development, the NPP has chosen the wife of the murdered NPP MP, Ekow Hayford, as his replacement for the party in the upcoming December elections.

The wife, Ophelia Hayford, is an Assitant Superintendent of Police (ASP), was reportedly selected by the party at a meeting held on Tuesday, October 13, 2020.

Ophelia has, thus, tendered in her resignation letter to the police administration following her new role as her husband’s replacement.
