Lucy Waithera

Mireille and Waithera were very close before her disappearance in early 2019. Waithera aged 61 will be arraigned in Milimani Law Courts on Thursday, February 27 where she is expected to be charged with Killing Mireille.

Waithera had made conflicting statements during interrogation. She would say Mareille died of HIV/AIDS at MP Shah Hospital and her body cremated at Kariokor crematorium.

However, sleuths later established that the suspect was lying after MP Shah director said that Mereille was never admitted at the hospital let alone dying there.

Waithera is said to have changed tune and claimed the deceased died in India where she had sought treatment claims that were dismissed by the immigration department.

The suspect forged Mareille’s death certificate which she used to file a succession case in Nakuru Law Court.

What’s shocking is that she placed herself as the key beneficiary of the deceased’s estate. Waithera has already sold one of the houses valued at KSh 20 Million.

The suspect was arrested on February 1, 2020, with the deceased’s phone, passports and ATM cards.

Mareille who had been living in the country for 23 years separated from her husband and moved to Nakuru in October 2018.

In Nakuru, she met Waithera with whom they became friends before she vanished. Although detectives suspect she is dead, her body has never been found.
