Confusion As Muslim Students Are Banned From Wearing Hijab In Wesley Girls High School

The ongoing debate about admitting students with dreadlocks into Achimota School has unearthed alleged systematic discrimination at Wesley Girls High School in Cape Coast.

Wearing Hijab for any form of worship or bringing the Holy Quran into the school has been banned by the school authorities.

MyNewsGH reports that the bold students amongst them have to hide in their dormitories and other places on campus to pray.

One guardian told MyNewsGH that the school authorities just this weekend declined to accept his ward carry the Quran as part of her items or Hijab for prayers.

Some parents, according to the reports, have been forced to withdraw their wards from the school for fear of victimization against her ward who had insisted on her right to worship.

Officials of Wesley Girls Senior High School were not available for comments.
