A Murang’a Catholic Church Member Was Caught On Camera Stealing The Church Offering

Stealing from the house of the Lord is the smartest thing to do. It is not only God who sees your act, but the camera also does too!

While others were enjoying Valentine’s day with their loved one, Mr. Peter Muiya Irungu was arrested the police and accused of theft that had left the St. James Cathedral Church in Murang’a town a little bit of chaos over the past few weeks.

He was caught with bundles of notes stashed in his pockets.

The church was very surprised because Muiya is one of the devoted members of the church, who would never miss a day of worship.

His strategy was simple, be one of the last worshippers to leave the church grounds after service by pretending to pray longer.

The church decided to set up the CCTV cameras after they kept coming up short with their offerings.

His friends say Mr. Muiya engaged in petty theft in 2018, so targeting the church seems to be business as usual. He was arraigned at the Murang’a Law Courts on Friday, February 14, on burglary charges.
