Video: Coast MCA Says Governor Joho Sent Goons To Beat Up His Family

Kongowea ward MCA Abrary Mohammed Omar has on this day Thursday, August 8, accused Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho of sending goons to beat up his brothers and also to destroy his businesses.

Abrary who has been in a political dispute with Joho said his family and business are now paying the price courtesy of “001.”

In the video, he stated that the governor had sent two lorries and six inspectorate vehicles to his home while insisting that justice shall prevail on the county boss..

“I want to tell governor Joho that justice will be served. I can’t believe that you sent two lorries and six inspectorate vehicles to my home,” he expressed amidst anger.

“You beat up my brothers just because of politics? You send people to destroy my businesses just because of politics,” he posed.

The MCAs claims against the governor are yet to be verified although the former has sworn to die for the truth.

Abrary was among the four MCAs who forwarded documents to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) indicating that Joho’s administration had diverted taxpayers’ money to non-existent projects.

Charles Kitula (Freretown), Fahad Kassim (Mjambere), Robert Nyiro (Bamburi), Athman Shebe (Jomvu Kuu) alongside Abrary’s efforts to implicate Joho proved futile.

On July 25, 2020, the County Assembly Finance Committee chairman Mohammed Hatimy termed claims by the MCAs as ‘unfounded’ .

“These people do not know how the budget is made. All they are citing is in the plan. The exact amount to be spent on those projects will be shown by the bill of quantity,” he stated.
