Maria Drama Actress Dorea Chege, popularly known as Maggie has become the latest celebrity to set an eye on an elective seat.
She is set to vie for the Nairobi Women Representative position.
Dorea Chege is popularly known for her role as Maggie in Maria drama series that aired on Citizen TV.
Taking to her Instagram account Maggie promised Nairobi residents of change if she wins the seat.
Recently Sauti Sol’s Polycarp Otieno and media personality Adelle Onyango raised concerns about celebrities joining politics in 2022.
Through their social media platforms, the two said they are concerned that the ones in Parliament haven’t done much for creatives.

1. Jalang’o
Kiss FM radio presenter Felix Odiwuor popularly known as Jalang’o announced that he will be vying for the Lang’ata parliamentary seat.
He has expressed interest in the seat that is held by a first-term MP Nixon Korir.
2. Rufftone
Gospel artiste Smith Mwatia also known as Rufftone announced that he is eyeing the Nairobi senator seat.
“You are looking at the new incoming senator, Nairobi, Mr Roy Smith Mwatia. I’ll be vying 2022,” he said in a past interview.
3. MC Jessy
Comedian and MC Jasper Muthomi, popularly known as MC Jessy, shocked his fans when he declared his interest to be the next South Imenti MP.
In September last year, Jessy officially joined the parliamentary race and was endorsed by the constituency’s elders.
4. Prezzo
Rapper Jackson Ngechu Makini also known as Prezzo will be vying for the Kibra parliamentary seat.
He first expressed interest in the Kibra MP seat in 2029, when IEBC declared the seat vacant following the death of Ken Okoth.
