Lengendary Football Legend, Diego Maradona was laid to rest on Thursday, November 26 in a private ceremony at the Jarfik Bella Vista cemetery in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Reports have it that he was buried next to his parents Damla and Diego. Although thousands of fans lined the streets to pay homage while waving their flags only close family members and friends were allowed into the cemetery.
Maradona died Wednesday, November 25 of a cardiac arrest weeks after undergoing a brain surgery.
According to AP News, the icon’s coffin was draped with the Argentine flag and shirts bearing his national team and Boca Juniors club No.10.
Fans wept and chanted ‘Diego is not dead, Diego lives in the people’ as his body was taken into the cemetery.
