Kibera Law Courts has freed a man on bond after he denied charges of drugging and raping a victim he claims is his wife.
On Wednesday, August 12, the man who is of Somali was arraigned in court for the alleged criminal act against the woman which is said to have occurred during a house party on July 5, in Eastleigh, Nairobi.
Sources indicate that the suspect invited the victim to a party in a friend’s house filled with strangers.
He then allegedly spiked the lady’s soft drink which got her unconscious before he raped her.
When she regained consciousness, she was by herself in a secluded room, away from the others at the party.
She did not talk to anyone about it until over a month later when she fell sick.
According to our source, a pregnancy test on her turned out positive.
The suspect was freed on a Ksh 200,000 bond by Senior Resident Magistrate Charles Mwaniki.
He is also being charged with being in Kenya illegally.
