Tensions are very high in Ghana as the election results keep trickling in.
As at now, the figures coming in might be deceptive as both the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) claim to be leading.
Johnson Asiedu Nketiah of the NDC some few minutes ago indicated that the NDC have won massively in terms of parliamentary seats and what this means is that John Mahama is now the President elect of the country.
Interestingly John Mahama has reacted to these claims by thanking Ghanaians for voting for him, In a Facebook post, he wrote
“Thank you for voting for change and giving the NDC a working majority in the next Parliament. Thank you Ghana”.
Meanwhile the Electoral Commission which has the legal mandate to declare the results is st to do so at 5pm.
