Students of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology are demanding the cancellation of mid-semester examination due to the spread of coronavirus.
The examination which has been scheduled for this week may not take place as a large section of the student body have kicked against it though no case has been recorded in the school.
The students, as usual, have taken to social media to protest, the hashtag #cancelKNUSTmidsem –at the time of this publication, is trending at #2.
A communique was released via the official handle of the KNUST SRC Parliamentary Council of a meeting with the school’s authorities “to discuss and forward our position on the risk analysis of the Coronavirus and the way forward for KNUST students.”
We have been monitoring and listening to the conversation all over and we want to assure students to hold their trust and interest in us. We will always put the sole interest of students at the forefront of any high level discussion.
Signed: Rt. Hon. Asamoah Hunvilla

ABC do you know about the number of confirmed cases in Kumasi alone? Are you going to allow them increase our risk to contact this virus by writing this midsem? #cancelKNUSTmidsem
