Students of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Senior High School have protested against the attitude of the school’s authorities towards a sick student who eventually died.
According to reports, the boy died from ulcer complications, however, the school’s authorities refused to attend to him for the fear of contracting coronavirus.
Friends of the deceased student whose name is yet to be made public are reported to be been punished for helping their friend who was tossing and turning about.
One of the students told Citi: “The senior housemaster told his [the deceased boy’s] friends to leave him alone. He told them to sanitise their hands and asked them why they were holding the boy and gave them a plot to weed [as punishment].”
The headmistress allegedly sped through the crowd with her car at top speed after asking the student’s “is it dead bodies you haven’t seen before.”
The teeming students demonstrated in the school and have been reported to have damaged properties including the headmistress’ car.
