Khalwale Saves Lecturer’s Life in 2-Hour Emergency Surgery

Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale, on Saturday, June 24, performed a 2-hour emergency surgery on a lecturer allegedly attacked by the son.

According to the lawmaker, the man incurred deep cuts on his head and hands, inflicted by a machete, causing him to bleed excessively.

Consequently, the tutor was rushed to Mukumu Hospital in Kakamega, prompting the medics to summon the legislator, a professional doctor.

The senator revealed that the over 2-hour surgical debridement & stitching prevented bleeding as doctors rushed to stabilize the patient.

Khalwale also shared photos before and after the surgery, adding that the lecturer was recovering and receiving further medical attention.

“Kisumu Polytechnic lecturer was this morning grievously injured after his machete welding son attacked him.  I am glad to have saved his life after a gruelling 2 hours 10 minutes operation at Mukumu Hospital,” he stated.

The cause of the disagreement between the lecturer and the son was, however, not revealed.

Khalwale did not also disclose whether the embattled father planned to obtain a P3 medical examination form and file a complaint with the police.

Following the surgery, Kenyans took to social media to congratulate the doctor who saved the man’s life with his quick medical intervention.

Khalwale graduated with a degree in medicine and surgery at the University of Nairobi from 1981 to 1987.

He also worked as a medical officer for the Ministry of Health before becoming Ikolomani Member of Parliament in 2002.

“I’m a Doctor of Medicine with vast experience in public and private practice. I’ll easily fix Health in Kakamega,” Khalwale stated while unveiling his manifesto in 2016 ahead of the 2017 gubernatorial elections which he lost to former governor Wycliffe Oparanya.
