Kenya Records First Coronavirus Death

A 66-year-old Kenyan man has become the first casualty in the country to succumb to the deadly coronavirus pandemic.

Health CS Mutahi Kagwe announced the development on Thursday saying the man died afternoon at the Agakhan Hospital Intensive Care Unit where he was admitted.

Kagwe said in a statement:

The patient had arrived in the country on March 13, 2020, from South Africa via Swaziland.“The man who was suffering from diabetes had arrived in the country on March 13, 2020, from South Africa via Swaziland

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the country stands at 31.
