A petition has been filed before the Milimani law court seeking orders to allow inmates attend funeral of their loved ones.
The petition has been filed by journalist Moses Dola who wants inmates and convicts given permission to attend funerals.
Dola who is serving his sentence says that he is aggrieved that there’s no law allowing inmates and convicts to attend burials for their family members.
He said that if there will be clear guidelines and mechanisms, then it would be easy for the prisons to facilitate convicted persons and inmates attend funerals.
