On January 27, 2002, Lagos witnessed a devastating incident they had never encountered before — an explosion that was not targetted at anyone.
The Lagos armoury explosion was an accidental detonation of a large stock of military high explosives at a storage facility in Ikeja Cantonment. A large section of Lagos caught up in flames resulting from burning projectiles.
At the time, Ifeoma was just 4 years old and her brother was only 13 months old.
18 years after the tragic incident, 22-year-old Ifeoma reflects on the past and is thankful for her life.

“Today marks 18 [years since] I escaped death! But God changed my story (27/1/2002) during the bomb blast that happened in Ikeja cantonment when I was just 3+ years old that took the lives of millions of souls including that of my kid brother and left me the only surviving child.”
