Following the report of Nigeria’s recorded third case of the deadly corona virus on Tuesday, March 17, stricter measures are being taken to combat the spread of the virus.
The patient is reportedly a 30-year-old returnee from the United Kingdom (UK).
As part of the government’s plans to ensure Nigeria contains the spread of corona virus, a ban has been issued on all travels outside the country by officials of ministries, departments, and agencies and the general public until further notice.
The move was announced by the secretary to the government of the federation, Mr Mustapha at the end of the inaugural meeting of the presidential task force for the control of the viral disease. The presidential task force also advised Nigerians to cancel all travels abroad especially to all high-risk countries as this decision was made for the good of everyone in the country.
We certainly hope they consider border closing and complete travel ban of returnees
