Family of Edwin Chiloba Says He Was a Staunch Christian, Dismisses LGBTQ Claims

The family of slain Eldoret-based fashion designer Edwin Chiloba has dismissed claims that their loved one was a member of LGBTQ community.

The family spokesperson Caudentia Tanui said Edwin Kiprotich Kiptoo (Chiloba) was brought up as a Christian, was a member of Christian union in school and at some point, he was nicknamed ‘ Pastor ‘.

“As a family, we know our child came to university, he was in his fourth year. These other things we are seeing on social media we don’t know. He was brought up as a Christian. At St. Francis Kimuron he was called ‘pastor’ and he was a student leader in charge of YCS so these other things we are hearing we do not know we are just seeing it online.”

The family has requested Kenyans to stop judging them since they want their kin to rest in peace as they continue pushing for justice.

They are hopeful that Edwin will get justice since the government has intervened.

Chiloba’s body was discovered stuffed in a metallic box in Kipkenyo, Eldoret, on Wednesday, January 4 2023.

Five suspects have so far been arrested as investigations into the murder continue.
