An assistant referee in Ghana’s Division One League had to run for his life after fans chased him for disallowing a goal between New Edubiase and Bekwai Youth FC.
New Edubiase had scored from a corner-kick but the linesman deemed it as offside which led to supporters of the club attacking him.
In a video posted on Twitter, spotted by Sports Brief, the linesman and his colleague officials had to run to save themselves from the irate fans.

The game had to be ended as the referees entered the inner perimeter to receive protection from the securities in charge on the day.
Several incidents of violent conduct in the Division One league has been recorded in the past with the FA handing severe sanctions to the perpetrators.

The Ghana Football Association is expected to take drastic decisions against the attackers.
