It was earlier reported that a 16-year-old final-year student at Miracle Senior High School in Barkoniaba, Sunyani district, Bono Region, had allegedly committed suicide.
Leticia Kyere Pinaman is said to have been spotted hanging in the school‘s dining hall by her classmates around 9:30 p.m. on Monday.
It is not immediately clear what caused the incident, but it happened when the majority of the students were in the school’s assembly hall learning the word of God. Gifty Acheampong, the Housemistress, said in an interview that she was in the kitchen when she heard the shocking news.
The body has been handed over to the Sunyani Municipal Police and is being held in a mortuary at the Sunyani Regional Hospital for investigation.
