Bomet woman representative Linet Chepkorir, alias Toto, is in court over allegations of hiring six of her family members.
Labour and employment judge James Toka on Monday directed that the case filed against Toto be heard within the jurisdiction in Bomet.
The judge said that there’s no reason for the petition to be filed in Nairobi and instead transferred the file to Eldoret Employment and Labour Relations Court.
In the matter, two petitioners are accusing Toto of nepotism .They argue that six persons listed as interested parties in the case have been employed as support staff in various departments in the office of Bomet County Woman representative.
The two petitioners allege that that the six were not competitively recruited and appointed, and therefore the court should quash their appointment.
They also want the court to direct Toto and the Public Service Commission to recruit their support staff afresh in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.
