A Spirit Told Me I Would Be Speaker Of Parliament – Alban Bagbin

Ghana’s speaker of parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin has made a jaw dropping revelation that he had no intentions of running for MP once more.

He indicated that, he was focused on an Institute of Parliamentary Affairs Africa, a democracy group he established when it suddenly dawned on him that he could become the Speaker of Parliament. Thus, he is immensely grateful to his party members for electing him.

In a symposium held by the National Democratic Congress(NDC) in honor of Flt. Jerry John Rawlings, Bagbin said to former president Mahama, “I couldn’t sleep, but some spirit descended on me that I was going to win. That was why that day I promised you that we will win this battle.”

“The God who started it all, will accomplish it,” he continued.

On January 7 2021, a night of chaos in the Parliament House, Bagbin was elected as Speaker of the 8th Parliament, beating Prof. Aaron Mike Ocquaye, his predecessor and former MP for Dome Kwabenya.
