Authorities of the University of Cape Coast have debunked claims that all 33 students who were arrested on the campus of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) were indeed their products.

According to a statement released by UCC, only 24 students had their names verified as its students.

Upon the necessary checks, it was found out that twenty-four (24) of the names were in the UCC data systems as students

The statement also revealed that all 33 persons have been granted bail and transferred to the Central Regional Police Command.

Contrary to the rules stipulated in the Students Handbook, it has been fount out that the group did not seek permission to travel as a group.

The university authorities say they are still assisting the police with investigations and are appealing to the University Community, parents and the general public to remain calm as due processes are being followed.

**The number of students turned out to be 33 instead of 34 as earlier reported.
